Community Service Event: SF Food Bank
Our past community service event with the SF Food Bank was a great success! Box after box, we stuffed and sealed and packaged. Along the way, some of us fell, others spilled oatmeal, and everyone laughed and learned more about one another.
Since then, KAPS has reprised our efforts in helping the SF Food Bank meet its goals. It has already been nine months since KAPS became an official Apple Corps team at the SF Food Bank. An Apple Corps team commits to a year's worth of activities to help fight hunger year-round.
Please join us for another day of service on Saturday, 6/19/2010 from 9AM - 12PM.
Some have already contacted Christine Shin to volunteer for this event. Other of you have volunteered in the past and we wanted to reach out to see if you were interested in volunteering once again.
Please let me know if you are interested in coming or please reconfirm that you are still able to make it.
Thanks again for helping out. Also stick around afterward as we will meet up for a well deserved brunch/lunch in Potrero Hill at Sally's restaurant, (De Haro and 16th Street).
If you have any questions, please feel free to email the KAPS Community Service Chair Dennis Kwon at dennis@kaps.org

KAPS Professional Foodies Returns
Red Cross, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Doctors without Borders...All are not-for-profits making a difference in the lives of the less-privileged around the world. These organizations are not only run by those who freely volunteer their time, but also by professionals from various backgrounds.
For KAPS Professional Dinner #3, we will be discussing careers in non-profit and the considerations one must make, such as the financial impact and the compromise between personal career growth vs job satisfaction.
Where:
Five Restaurant
2086A Allston Way
Berkeley, CA 94704
(510) 225-6055
When: Wednesday, June 23rd @ 7pm.
Reservation: Please contact KAPS Professional Chair Min Lee at min@kaps.org for your interest in attending by Sunday, June 20th.
Please RSVP as early as possible as we had a full table for our 1st dinner! *Paid KAPS members will be given priority over non-paid members. Join or renew online at www.kaps.org/membership10
We will be organizing monthly dinners for members to come together and enjoy conversation over delicious food in a casual atmosphere. Seating will be limited to a maximum of 10 (members given preference over non-members). We will also be choosing a topic of conversation to discuss to keep things interesting so if you attend, please come prepared to state your opinion! *Depending upon the topic, we will have special guests join us for dinner. Restaurant and conversation topic will change for every dinner so please keep looking for future dinner locales and themes. Dinner cost will be shared by the table. Alcohol will be the responsibility of each individual.
