Community Service Event: Volunteer with KAPS for Seolnal at the Korean Center
KAPS is excited to assist the Korean Center, Inc. (www.koreannet.org) with this year's Seolnal Lunar New Year Celebration on Friday, February 12th, 2010 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. The Korean Center (1362 Post St, corner of Gough) currently is the only comprehensive social service agency in San Francisco dedicated to serving the Korean American community.
Please join KAPS as we give back to Koreans and Korean Americans in our community by assisting the Korean Center. We will be needing several volunteers to help staff various activity rooms for families with children, including:
- Yut-nori competition
- Korean calligraphy
- Tea tasting
- Rice cake decorating
- Korean BINGO
- Painting and coloring
- Film screening
As an added bonus, there will be TONS of traditional Korean feast-style food in the patio area. This event promises to be a fun celebration and a great way to provide service to your community.
Please contact KAPS Community Service Chair, Christine Shin at christine@kaps.org to RSVP (plan to wear your KAPS t-shirt!) or with any questions. See you there!

Community Service Event: SF Food Bank
Save the dates!
Our first community service event with the SF Food Bank was a great success! Box after box, we stuffed and sealed and packaged. Along the way, some of us fell, others spilled oatmeal, and everyone laughed and learned more about one another.
The end result was this: 18,000 pounds of cabbage and 1,056 pounds of oatmeal were repackaged and distributed into the hands of those who need it most. It was no small feat.
Since then, KAPS has reprised our efforts in helping the SF Food Bank meet its goals. It has already been half a year since KAPS became an official Apple Corps team at the SF Food Bank. An Apple Corps team commits to a year's worth of activities to help fight hunger year-round.
Please join us for another day of service on Saturday, 2/20/2010 from 9AM - 12PM.
To register, please email christine@kaps.org.
If you can't make our next event on 2/20, email Christine to register for the next events on 5/22/10 and 8/21/10.

Job Posting: Account Executives in Social Media and Marketing Company in the Peninsula
A leading Social Media and Marketing company located on the Peninsula is actively searching for two strong Account Executives. Ideal candidates will have a background of successfully selling marketing software products to online businesses. SaaS products such as Marin Software, Omniture, Coremetrics, Webex, Salesforce.com, Marketo, Pluck, etc. are of the greatest interest. The average deal size is between $25K and $110K per year right now, so this is a higher volume sales environment than the bigger enterprise SaaS products out there like Cisco, IBM, Oracle, etc.
We're looking for individual contributing "hunters" who can identify prospects on their own, generate 40-50 outreaches per day, conduct 10-12 meetings per week and close 4-5 deals per month. This is possible and being done by the existing team.
Compensation is a base of $100K +/- $10K and an additional $100K+ commission/bonus. For the right candidate we can be flexible on compensation. The plan is heavily accelerated and not capped. Heavy producers can truly hit $300K.
This is a company positioned to heavily capitalize on the following trends:
Trend 1: Social is "the next search"
* Users are discovering new content based on friend activity in social feeds, and social is now the largest source of traffic for many websites
* Social is already becoming integrated with search results
* Social recommendations are given a higher priority than other information sources, and therefore generates more page views than search traffic for many websites

Trend 2: Users prefer universal access to their identity and friends
* Websites who use 3rd party registration options see a significant increase in conversions
* Websites who enable interaction and display content based on a user's social graph see a significant increase in page views
