Join us for our monthly Kappy Hour on February 4th! This Kappy Hour will be held at Yoshi’s Jazz Club in San Francisco at 7:00pm. We have reserved the upstairs Sake Lounge exclusively for KAPS from 7:00pm until 9:00pm. It then becomes open to the public and a live DJ spins hot jams starting at 10:00pm. As you know, Valentine’s Day is approaching fast, so for those of you single-mingles out there this might be the perfect opportunity to meet your Valentine’s Day viking or vixen. So start off your KAPS new year right by coming out to the first Kappy Hour of 2010!

Community Service Event: Volunteer with KAPS for Seolnal at the Korean Center

KAPS is excited to assist the Korean Center, Inc. (www.koreannet.org) with this year's Seolnal Lunar New Year Celebration on Friday, February 12th, 2010 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. The Korean Center (1362 Post St, corner of Gough) currently is the only comprehensive social service agency in San Francisco dedicated to serving the Korean American community.
Please join KAPS as we give back to Koreans and Korean Americans in our community by assisting the Korean Center. We will be needing several volunteers to help staff various activity rooms for families with children, including:
- Yut-nori competition
- Korean calligraphy
- Tea tasting
- Rice cake decorating
- Korean BINGO
- Painting and coloring
- Film screening
As an added bonus, there will be TONS of traditional Korean feast-style food in the patio area. This event promises to be a fun celebration and a great way to provide service to your community.

KCI Event: North Korea - Humanitarian and Human Rights Dilemmas
The Korean Center, Inc. (KCI) is putting together a special lecture series entitled North Korea: Human Face and would like to extend a special invitation to KAPS members.
The inaugural lecture, North Korea: Humanitarian and Human Rights Dilemmas, will be presented by Peter M. Beck, Pantech Research Fellow at Stanford University’s Asia Pacific Research Center, Former executive director of the U.S. Committee for Human Rights in North Korea and the International Crisis Group’s Northeast Asia Project in Seoul.
Wednesday, February 3rd 6:00pm program, 7:00pm reception

This lecture is also co-sponsored by World Affairs Council, USF Center for the Pacific Rim, Japan Policy Research Institute, and the Nautilus Institute.

Key Activities:
• Exceed monthly, quarterly and annual bookings target for subscriptions and services
• Achieve a balance of 60% bookings from subscriptions and 40% bookings from training/consulting
• Sell 3-4 subscription deals/month and 5-6 training/consulting deals/month
• Maintain a very high level of activity o 50+ calls per day o 8-10 online meetings per week o One week of 8-10 in-person meetings per month with prospects o Pipeline to Quota ratio of 5:1
• Consistently rank in the top 20% of performers across company’s sales force
The successful candidate will:
• Have a Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in the IT Software field.
• Minimum of 5 years external sales experience. Ideally selling software infrastructure solutions.
• Strong sales track record within the enterprise markets selling complex software solutions.
• Open source experience would be an advantage
• Experience of working in an early stage start up would be an advantage. Must be a self starter with very high energy.
• Will demonstrate excellent presentation skills (written and verbal) and have strong interpersonal skills.
• Will have a mature and sensible approach to long-term relationship development with customers.
• Someone with energy and passion that will project into the channel and the market on behalf of Spring Source and also inspire.
• Will be expected to represent Spring Source in tradeshows, the press and conferences.
