October is quickly creeping up on us and what does that mean? KAPPY HOUR TIME! Our October Kappy Hour will be this Thursday, Oct 1st at Palio D' Asti on 640 Sacramento Street in SF.
Like the last Kappy Hour, there will be ALL YOU CAN EAT AND DRINK (beer, well drinks, wine) from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. 10% of the proceeds of this Kappy Hour will go back to the Senior Citizen's Program at the Korean Center (www.koreannet.org), which is the only comprehensive social service agency in San Francisco dedicated to serving the Korean American community.
So let's get our drink on and help the community!
What: Kappy Hour - All you can eat and drink, $20 for members and $25 for non-members
When: Thursday, October 1st, 6:30pm - 8:30pm (the special is only applicable during these times, so PLEASE COME ON TIME)
Where: Palio D' Asti on 640 Sacramento Street (between Montgomery St and Kearny St) in SF
Why: Fundraiser for the Korean Center Senior Citizen's Program. There are many elderly citizens who still rely on the Korean Center for meals, citizenship training and computer classes and the funds we raise will help meet these needs.
Want to get the member discount? Sign up for membership at http://kaps.org/membership09 today!
Each of our Kappy Hours offer a great opportunity to network with fellow Korean-American professionals, meet up with old friends, and learn about what's going on in KAPS.

RECAP: VOLUNTEER WITH KAPS FOR CHUSOK AT THE KOREAN CENTER
Thank you to all of the volunteers who came out to assist with the Korean Center's Chusok Night on Friday, September 25th. It was a great way to give back to Korean and even some non-Korean families in the local community.
Volunteers assisted neighborhood families with various fun activities, including:
Yut-nori competition
Korean calligraphy
Kimchi sampling
Jaegi tournament
Karaoke
Hanbok contest
Homemade songpyun
The highlight of the night was an absolutely amazing sambuk (Korean traditional drum dance) performance by 10-year-old Sabrina Kim, a student of the Ong Dance company.
Please check back on our website soon as there will be pictures from our volunteering efforts posted.

SAVE THE DATE: KAPS HALLOWEEN PARTY
Attention all KAPS Members!
KAPS Social Chair JinUk Shin is looking for a few good volunteers to help him plan our annual Halloween Party, which will be held on Saturday, October 31. This year, we've decided to use the Korean Center of San Francisco as our venue.
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Korea+Center...
As you can see, its an old Victorian House with plenty of potential be as creepy, scary, and exciting as we can make it.
JinUk will need volunteers to help setup, decorate, and do any assorted things before our October 31st frightfest. We will have our first meeting at the Korean Center, brainstorm ideas, and get things rolling.
If you are interested in helping out, please e-mail JinUk at JinUk@kaps.org or JinUkShin@gmail.com. He'll give out additional details.
