INTRODUCING YOUR NEW KAPS PRESIDENT

Dear friends and fellow KAPS members,

As spring changes to summer, I am very excited for a change in the KAPS world. It is my great pleasure to announce that Jean Park is taking over as your new president!

Jean has faithfully served KAPS for the past 2.5 years, first as the Community Service Chair and later as the Vice-President. She has done an amazing job orchestrating various KAPS events (Habitat for Humanity, Bags of Love, and the Korean-Heritage Night come to mind) and has been a valuable contributor to the growth of our organization. She has a passion for connecting Korean-Americans throughout the Bay Area and an amazing vision for making KAPS a bigger, more important part of the community.

I am also excited to inform you that Jean has agreed to let me stay on as your Vice-President, so I will still be active in KAPS and seeing you at many events. I want to thank all of you for your support during my term as president and being active in KAPS in the past and for your future participation as well.

I know Jean will be an inspirational leader for our entire membership and can't wait to see the direction she takes KAPS. If you're interested in getting more involved in KAPS, we are always looking for good people to serve as officers.

Please join me in welcoming Jean as our new president! You can contact her at jean@kaps.org or tell her in-person at Kappy Hour this Thursday at Yoshi's.

Sincerely,
Andrew Ko
President, KAPS
2008-2009

UT AUSTIN STUDY: CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS

University of Texas at Austin’s School of Nursing seeks women participants (ages 40-60) for an online health survey. In this study, each participant will get a $10 Gift Card for Internet survey, and another $50 Gift Card for online forum discussion (6 months).

Participants should be women aged 40 to 60 years old without any mobility problems, who can read and write English, and who are online.

We believe that participants will benefit from this study, because when the data is analyzed and if a trend is observed, we can come up with a physical activity program or other necessary initiatives that actually applies to the population.

To participate, please click or copy and paste the following link http://mapa.nur.utexas.edu/MAPA/

The survey will begin with a series of eligibility questions. If the study has filled our sampling quota for an individual with your characteristics you will receive a message that states so. The survey could take 20 – 30 minutes.

If you have questions about the study, please contact Hoon Im at limhun1234@hotmail.com
