SF GIANTS GAME – KOREAN HERITAGE NIGHT

Join KAPS for our trip to the 3rd annual Korean Heritage Night with the SF Giants! The Giants will be celebrating Korean culture and community impact at their game against the New York Mets on Thursday, May 14th. There will be very special pregame and in-game entertainment and everyone who attends will get special Korean Heritage seating and a free Korean-themed souvenir!

REGISTER NOW FOR THE KACC GOLF TOURNAMENT

KAPS is proud to partner with the Korean-American Chamber of Commerce (KACC) of Silicon Valley to present the 2009 Golf Tournament at Boulder Ridge Golf Course (one of the finest private golf courses in Silicon Valley).

This event will bring local businesses and players together for a day of golf and entertainment.

You will enjoy a day full of golf and social activities including:

18 holes of golf (including cart)
Lunch and Dinner
Goodie Bag

Raffles and prizes
Putting Contest
Long drive Contest
Closest to Pin Contest
Hole in One Contest

The 2009 event will be held Monday, May 18th at the Boulder Ridge Golf Club (1000 Old Quarry Road., San Jose 95123).

Registration, putting contest, and golf lessons from the PGA professional starting at 10am with a shotgun start at 12pm.

The cost for this event is only $150 which will go toward entry into all events, 18 holes of golf, riding cart, lunch, dinner, wine and prizes. Additional activities are available (at cost) including a 100 yard pitching contest and games at various holes.

SPEND THIS SUMMER IN KOREA TEACHING SATS

Kudos Educational Consulting is executing a new SAT Boot Camp program in the summer. The camp is designed to guide high school students in Korea to enhance their test taking skills as well as a focused math, reading comprehension and writing curriculum to better their test scores. The program is also designed to prepare the students for college applications by providing pre-designed extra-curricular activities. In order to provide our students with an excellent education and college preparation, we are seeking individuals who will be able to teach and guide the SAT and AP exams as well as become mentors for the students.

Instructor prerequisites:

1. 4-year college degree
2. Ivy league school graduates or top 15 US college graduates preferred
3. A GPA of 3.6/4.0 or higher preferred
4. 2 to 3 years of experience teaching and tutoring SAT I and AP subjects

Subjects to be taught:

  • SAT I Critical Reading and Writing
    SAT I Math
  • AP Physics and Chemistry
  • AP Calculus

Teaching Period and Location:

  • 6/15 ~ 7/31 (7 weeks), 8 hrs. a day, Mon-Sat.
  • Seoul, Gangnam, Dogokdong, South Korea

ANNOUNCING THE MONTHLY KAPS NEWSLETTER CARTOON

KAPS is proud to announce that beginning this week, KAPS will be featuring a Korean-American cartoon once a month in our newsletter. These cartoons are brought to us by Jungmin Charles Joo, a Korean-American magazine cartoonist (http://joocartoon.weebly.com), residing in Connecticut.

Jungmin’s cartoons have been published in Commonweal, First for Women, Medical Economics, Saturday Evening Post, Sun, Woman's World, Z magazine, and others. KAPS is always on the lookout for people interested in getting the most out of their KAPS experience.
