KOREAN DANCE PERFORMANCE FOR NEW YEAR - KNUA DANCE COMPANY

Come join KAPS for a very special performance of KNUA Dance Company from the Korea National University of Arts (KNUA), School of Dance!

KNUA Dance Company is bringing a group of top-notch Korean young dancers and the choreographers. They have been performing internationally for past years and receiving great reviews. KNUA will have two performances in Bay Area:

KAPS’ very own Yumi Lee has managed to secure a limited number of FREE tickets to the San Francisco show and $10 discounted tickets for the Sacramento show ($30 at door price). A contingent from KAPS is planning to attend both shows. Tickets will be reserved for anyone affiliated with KAPS and their guests

If you are interested in attending, please email Yumi by SUNDAY, JANUARY 18TH at performance@digirati.net. KAPS would like to thank Yumi for providing us with this special offer.

Since its establishment by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 1992, KNUA continually strives to create an academic environment in which the artistically gifted are challenged and inspired to do their best possible work. It consists of six independent but correlative schools: School of Music, School of Drama, School of Film, TV & Multimedia, School of Dance, School of Visual Arts and School of Korea Traditional Arts. Under this innovative and cooperative spirit, KNUA offers Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs while providing pre-school training program for promising young students

The School of Dance was established for the aim to provide practical and high-standard education in dance to meet the long yearned goal of securing professionalism and excellence in the dance education. In 1997, the School of Dance organized KNUA Dance Company composed of students and faculty of KNUA, taking yet another step closer to becoming the provenance of professional dancers in Korea. In 2000, the graduate program was installed to produce Masters of fine arts. The KNUA has built up the partnership with Paris Conservatory, France Lyon Conservatory Taiwan National University of Arts and Dance, and Purchase College State University of New York.

Again, if you are interested in attending, please contact Yumi Lee at performance@digirati.net by Jan 18th. It will be a great performance, so don’t miss it!

ASIAN-AMERICAN WOMEN’S SURVEY

Dr. Eun-Ok Im is conducting an Internet study on the physical activity attitudes among diverse ethnic groups of middle-aged women (40-60 Y/O).

Data will be gathered through an Internet survey and ethnic-specific online forums which will allow a national sample.

The study will contribute to reducing health disparities, a major public health concern in the U.S. by directing the development of physical activity promotion programs that can serve ethnic minority midlife women through the Internet.

In this study, each participant will be reimbursed with a gift certificate of 10 dollars per Internet survey and an additional gift certificate of 50 dollars per online forum discussion (6 months).

The survey will begin with asking you a series of eligibility questions. If the study has filled our sampling quota for an individual with your characteristics you will receive a message that states so.
