DECEMBER KAPPY HOUR WITH THE ASIAN AMERICAN DONOR PROGRAM

It's that time again - December Kappy Hour!

Where: Yoshi's Jazz Club, 2nd Floor (1330 Fillmore St, San Francisco, CA 94115)

When: Thursday, December 4th, 2008, 7:30PM (first Thursday of every month)

Our last Kappy Hour was a smashing success, so make sure you don't miss this one. Please join us to meet up with old friends, make new friends, and learn about our upcoming events.

For a special treat, our friends from the Asian American Donor Program (AADP - http://www.aadp.org), a non profit service organization that helps leukemia or lymphoma patients find marrow/stem cell matches by doing outreach and education all over Northern California, will be coming to register bone marrows donors and raise funds to fight against these diseases.

Because finding a match is dependent on genetics it is more likely that an Asian patient will find a match with in another Asian patient (ie. a Korean patient will probably find a match in another Korean person). The Korean community still only represents 0.9% of the
national registry, which has about 6 million people.
