KAPS VOLUNTEERING - BAGS OF LOVE RECAP

A contingent of KAPS members brought Bags of Love to homeless people in the Civic Center neighborhood in San Francisco this past Saturday as part of KAPS' effort to give back to our local community. It was a great opportunity to provide lunch (and in many cases, a friendly
smile) to people who need it. You can see pictures from the event at our KAPS gallery at http://kaps.org/index.php?q=gallery

A big thank you to all of our KAPS volunteers!

AADP FUNDRAISING DINNER UPDATE

Come join our friends of the Asian American Donor Program (AADP) as they celebrate their 19th annual fundraiser dinner, Fantasia 2008.

AADP is a non profit organization dedicated to saving lives of those with blood cancers (i.e. leukemia or lymphoma) in need of marrow/stem cell transplants. Because matching is dependent on genetics, and with the severe shortage of minority donors on the National Registry, its
very hard for a patient with a diverse ethnic background to find a life saving match. Out of the 7 million registered donors, only 0.9% are Korean, while the Asian community, as a whole, only represent 7%. AADP has worked hard to increase the minority representation so that
every searching patient has a second chance at life.

Come support all the work that AADP does by attending Fantasia 2008 After Dark Mixer (with open bar) featuring an exclusive viewing of the exhibit: Afghanistan: Hidden Treasures from the National Museum, Kabul, henna artists, palm readers, and live performances!

Saturday, November 22, 2008
